Deciduous tree which grows up to 3 meters tall. Crown is rounded, foliage is oval, large, dark green with expressed venation. It blooms in August and September. The light pink scented flowers are encased in cluster panicles. The fruit is blue with a metallic sheen which is placed in red pods. They stay on branches until spring. In areas with mild winters it prospers out in the open.
