A lemon plant is sensitive to frost and temperatures below 0°C. If sheltered indoors, winter temperature should not exceed 10°C. It grows into a tree or a shrub. In springtime it is covered with numerous fragrant flowers of pink and white color. Lemon cultivars with several blossoms also exist. Yellow rounded or egg-shaped fruits of sour taste ripen in October or later, depending upon variety.
