From all the citrus species, tangerine is the most resistant to low temperatures. It grows into a short tree which is covered with fragrant white flowers in spring. Leathery, elongated leaves grow up to 10 cm. The orange fruits of rounded or rounded-flatted shape and sour-sweet taste ripen in October or later, depending upon selected variety.
